Privacy and your enquiry
Updated 2 October 2026
SPÁS studio, led by Richard Barrett in Cork, Ireland, is responsible for the website and enquiry information described in this notice. Contact Richard at richardbarrett@spasstudio.ie about your information or your data protection rights.
Your enquiry
The form collects your name, email address and project description. Project location, budget and timing are optional. We also receive the information you choose to send in correspondence. Please include only what is needed to explain your project.
We use these details to understand your enquiry, reply and discuss a possible appointment. Where you ask us to take steps towards an appointment, we rely on taking steps at your request before entering a contract. For other correspondence and appropriate enquiry records, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and managing those conversations. Providing information is voluntary; without contact details and sufficient project information we may be unable to reply meaningfully. Sending an enquiry does not create an appointment or contract.
The form and service providers
Our website runs on Squarespace. Submissions are stored in Squarespace and email notifications are sent to the studio’s business email account. The service providers involved are our website host, business email provider and anti-spam service. Google reCAPTCHA helps protect the form against automated submissions. Read Google’s Privacy Policy.
Squarespace processes information internationally, including in the United States. Its Data Processing Addendum explains the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. Google also describes international processing and safeguards in its Privacy Policy. Contact Richard for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
Keeping enquiry information
Inactive enquiries that do not become a commission are kept for 12 months after the last meaningful contact. If a specific legal requirement or an actual dispute requires longer retention, only the relevant information is retained for that purpose and reviewed when the requirement or dispute ends. If a project proceeds, its appointment and project-file arrangements are explained separately.
Website visitors and cookies
Squarespace processes technical and usage information to deliver and protect the website and provide website statistics, including information about browsers, devices, visits and IP addresses. Necessary website operations and security rely on our legitimate interest in providing a functioning, secure website. Optional analytics cookies rely on your consent.
The site’s cookie controls let you manage optional cookie preferences. Non-essential Squarespace cookies are restricted until the relevant preference is accepted. You can revisit your choice using Cookie Preferences on the site. Google reCAPTCHA has its own processing described above. Read Squarespace’s Privacy Policy.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. Contact richardbarrett@spasstudio.ie to make a request. You can also complain to Ireland’s Data Protection Commission.
